This is probably the most perfect example of an Ovation Breadwinner in existence. It’s as if a 50-year-old time capsule was opened containing an NOS example of this groundbreaking American guitar. Not a mark, scratch or ding anywhere, near-zero fret wear, no fading or checking of the innovative Lyrachord finish, the guitar is 100% original with no modifications. The Breadwinner was the first guitar ever to come stock with active electronics and the innovative design of the preamp includes a unique switchable notch filter circuit that allows for some truly funky out-of-phase sounds. The beautiful ebony fretboard features 24 frets, which was very rare for a guitar in 1974. Truly a collectible piece of vintage guitar history and you will not see one in this condition again. Comes with the original molded hard case and even includes the original instruction manual (which includes very detailed instructions on how to use the active preamp and EQ section) and warranty cards. This guitar is very much in NOS condition. If you’ve always wanted an Ovation Breadwinner, as I did since seeing Robert Smith and Ace Frehley play them when I was a teenager, don’t let this one go, you’ll never see one like this.
