Before joining the band, Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera led a Canterbury rock-based band called Quiet Son. Later, in 1975, he invited the members of Quiet Sun to work on his first solo album, Diamond Head, and produced a Quiet Sun album at the same time. ``Mainstream'' was released at the same time as his first solo album.
