Description
This is a sword rack stand made during the Meiji period (1868-1912). It was created using the 研出蒔絵(Tokidashi-Makie technique), which involves sprinkling gold powder and then covering the entire piece with lacquer. After drying, the surface is polished to reveal the underlying layer of Makie (gold powder). Moreover, it was preserved in the 滋野蔵(Shigeno warehouse), which collects high-end Japanese collectibles. It is meticulously crafted, and considering the time it was made, it is in excellent condition.
