Gibson SONEX-180 Deluxe (1981) Gibson SONEX-180 Deluxe 1981s This is a rare model produced from 1980 to 1984. A bolt-on neck is used, and the body material is made of a material that is hardened with resin around the wood using a method called multiphonic. All screws and parts used are Japanese-made metric standard. The pickup is equipped with a model called Velvet Brick, which also seems to have been manufactured in Japan. This is a rare model that can be said to be a collaboration between Japan and America, made with new materials at the time. It uses a Les Paul shape, but it has contours, a flat top, and a thin body, and is designed with an emphasis on playability, so I think it will be one that you won't get tired of playing live. The sound is a little closer to SG, and the middle comes through well in both drive and clean, making it a pleasant sound. It has been completely maintained by the repair department. Currently, the neck is set up almost straight with a slight curve. The string height above the 12th fret is 1.8mm for the 6th string and 1.5mm for the 1st string. There is a history of fret alignment, and the remaining capacity is low at about 40%, but there are no problems such as chatter or sound clogging. The truss rod is OK in both directions. There is a chip on the top of the truss rod cover. Seal marks can be seen on the head and bottom of the body top. The strap pin on the body end side has been replaced. All electrical parts are original, and there are currently no defects such as gully. As this guitar was manufactured over 40 years ago, there are scratches and dents due to use over time.
