Ovation N768-4 Craftsman 1993 (1993)

Ovation caused a sensation in the 1980s and 1990s with its groundbreaking design and deep electric-acoustic sound. Among them, the Super Adamas, which began production in 1976, had innovative specifications such as a carbon graphite top that overturned the conventional wisdom of acoustic guitars, and reigned as the top model of the Ovation brand from the 1980s to the 1990s. All the musicians who were active in the 1990s loved this Super Adamas. This time, we have a Nakao Elite Craftsman made in 1993, during the 1990s when Ovation's popularity was at its peak in Japan!

'AAAA' Sitka spruce TOP, Lyracord BODY, mahogany/maple 5-piece NECK, rosewood fingerboard, walnut bridge, measured 42.5mm nut, 25.25 inch scale deep bowl cutaway body. This model was made at a custom shop by Nakao Boeki, Ovation's general distributor in Japan at the time, and was popularly known as the Nakao Elite. With beautiful Avalon trim on the body and Avalon purfling on the fingerboard, this is the pinnacle of the wood top epaulet type, surpassing the Custom Elite!

The live sound is a well-defined sound that is unique to Ovation! The crisp and crisp sound combined with a short sustain creates a unique sound that can only be experienced with Ovation. The bouncy low that is typical of a deep bowl, the tight but moderate sustain in the middle, and the crisply pronounced highs all blend together to create the live acoustic sound that is unique to Ovation. The preamplifier used when plugging in is the OP-24, which is the second most popular after Wood Knob. After that, it became the OP-24PLUS and the preamplifiers gradually increased in functionality, but the simpler preamplifiers still produce a better sound for electric acoustic acoustics. Although it's not as good as the Kinobu era, you can enjoy the solid electric-acoustic sound with a thick fundamental tone!

The instrument is in good condition with almost no scratches such as dents, but unfortunately there is a wood crack repair on the top that is unique to Ovation. There was a crack from the bottom of the 2nd string bridge to the end of the body and it was repaired with adhesive. Ovation's unique quintet bracing tends to have wavy or cracked tops. The repair marks here also feel a little uneven when you touch them with your hands, but the bonding itself is solid and there are reinforcing cleats inside the body, so there is no need to worry about using it in the future. The top surface has been oversprayed, so if you hold it up to the light and look closely you will see traces of the over lacquer. Other than the cracks, there is no waving on the top and it is in good condition. There is a slight weather check near the end of the top of the body, and there are some scratches on the back, but there are no noticeable scratches from the neck to the head, and it remains in very good condition. doing.

The neck condition is good and generally straight, and the current string height is about 1.6mm on the 6th string and 1.2mm on the 1st string above the 12th fret, perfect for a fast-playing style. Even in this condition, there is no chatter in various places, but if you are using it for hard strokes, it may be better to add a shim under the saddle to raise the string height a little. There are no extreme dents in the frets, and even at the point where the frets are the most reduced, they still have about 80-90% of the original height.

A top model that looks luxurious! It comes with crack repair, so we offer it at a low price!

With original hard case
