A beautiful and rare, superb quality antique mid-size half hunter pocket watch in solid 14 carat gold.

Made in Switzerland by Dimier Freres & Cie about 1890, it's gorgeously ornate - with superbly detailed hand engraved designs throughout, rich transparent blue enamel highlights, an incredible asymmetric floral plume to the engine turned gold dial, and the initials 'LD' to the back. My favourite aspect of this piece is a subtle one - the delicate wheatsheaf engravings to the top bale ring that look like an olive wreath and set the whole piece off beautifully.

With blued steel hands and enamel Roman numerals, it's in fair condition, with wear to gold high points, some enamel loss and it sets but doesn't wind. The balance wheel spins freely though so it may just require a service with minimal parts to get it running again if desired. Overall it's a stunningly attractive, genuine antique gold watch that really catches the eye.

It weighs in at 35.3 grams, measures 37.5 mm in diameter and bears full matching gold hallmarks and maker's marks to cover and movement.
