A complete set of 52 cards plus the joker, manufactured by Charles Goodall & Sons Ltd., in London, titled on the box "Souvenir Playing Cards from the Atlantic Ocean to the Head of the Great Lakes: 52 Views on Grand Trunk Railway System."

A fine pack of cards, each with gold edges, and showing views from the Canadian Trunk Railway system that was constructed during the 2nd half of the 19th century. The views include a variety of scenes - towns, landscapes, fishing, etc. - and form a fascinating late 19th century record as well as an attractive pack of cards.

No date, but said to be c1905.

On the back of the cards is the head of a lady, as shown in the photo of the back of the box.

Size: the box measures 9.5cms x 7cms.

Condition: The cards are in a good condition. The inner box shows some signs of wear at the bottom. The outer box has wear along the edges, but it is holding together. A bit creased at the front as can be seen in the photos.
