Wow! Here is a great original set of these large and attractive Flyer wide gauge passenger cars! This is the “President’s Special” set, and it is one of the largest and most impressive of the sets produced by American Flyer in the wide, or standard, gauge! Very rarely does a nice original set of these cars come up for sale under the eBay auction format! This is the later and arguably more attractive version of the President’s Special set, in the painted enameled finish. Includes #4390 West Point Club/Baggage car, #4391 Annapolis Pullman car, #4393 Academy Diner car, and #4392 Army-Navy Observation car, all in two-tone blue/greenish-blue, with brass trim and plates with chrome trucks and red painted wheels. The set is all original with no touchup or repaint ever. All 4 cars are in excellent condition showing light wear with a few small scratches throughout as seen. The 4393 has a small crease dent on the roof, and a couple sides have a pin-sized dent, nothing offensive. All trim is intact on the set, except for one small clear window trim piece on the 4391. The set is clean and displays great. There are a few small stains throughout that may come out with a proper polish. The 4390 roof has some light discoloration from fading, nothing offensive. Please examine photos as they are the best description. Great set of these iconic and desirable cars in collector quality condition, no reserve!
