This is a very nice advanced-student, single-piece back, 14 inch viola for private sale. This viola was made by Amati Strings, of Houston, regarded as the leading strings shop in the Houston area. This viola has a nice, full, even sound.

Our student has advanced to the next size viola, and so we are now selling. It is very difficult to find good quality violas in this size range. This is an actual viola, and not a violin with a viola set-up (many "violas" at this size are actually violins with viola strings and tuning; a violin has a relatively thinner body).

This viola is fully functional; it has well-fitted bridge, and well-positioned sound post, and has no cracks. Tuning pegs fit and work well.  It has usual light marks and scratches from regular use. Viola currently has a set of Pirastro Tonica medium strings, the ones for this shorter length viola, that are still good. This is a regular construction viola, with spruce top, maple ribs and back, and ebony fingerboard.

This comes with a case. This does not come with any bow.
