This is a great piece of history... an original tintype photo of an African American man, from the Civil War era. He looks as though he could have been a civil war soldier. The photo was acquired in North Carolina and measures 3.25” x 2”.

This 1860’s photo captures a moment in time that offers a glimpse into the lives and experiences of African Americans during a tumultuous period in America.

Tintype photographs were a popular and affordable method of photography during the Civil War. Condition as pictured (please see all pics).  Props used to photograph the tintype are NOT included in the auction.

The photo is an original, and absolutely **not** a licensed reprint.  A must-have for collectors and history enthusiasts alike.
