Item Description

MOUNTAIN W-450 1970 (1970s)

Mountain's W-450, a rare brand that has little distribution among the many Japanese vintage brands and is rarely seen, is now in stock! Mountain's manufacturer is Hayashi Gakki Manufacturing.
Speaking of Hayashi Musical Instruments, it is also known for its OEM production of Rider and Fernendez Burny, and Hayashi Musical Instruments' Rider and Burny are extremely popular in the vintage market.
Also, Hayashi Musical Instruments is famous for having headway master luthier Yasuo Momose.

Solid spruce TOP, rosewood SIDE & BACK, mahogany NECK, rosewood fingerboard & bridge, actual 43mm nut, 650mm scale guild style small jumbo body.
In terms of looks, it looks like a restored Guild F-50R, but the body width is 16 inches, a small jumbo size, so I think it's a shape that is easy to hold for everyone.

The sound is solid and voluminous! Generally speaking, Japanese guitars from the 1970s tend to have a rugged and rugged sound, but perhaps it's because of the body shape. It has a mild sound.
It has non-scallop bracing, so it has a thick core sound, but it feels like a thicker fundamental sound rather than a crunchy and dynamic sound.
The bouncing and powerful lows, thick middles, and short sustain but smooth and glossy highs all come together to create an unexpectedly solid and voluminous sound!

The condition of the instrument includes scratches and signs of use, age, and repair history. First of all, as for the repair history, there is a crack repair of about 12 cm from the end of the body top slightly closer to the 1st string toward the bridge.
It is firmly glued and has a reinforcing cleat on the back, so there is no need to worry about its strength.
Appearance-wise, you can tell by the fading of the paint film when you hold it up to the light, but it's hardly noticeable when you look at it normally, so I don't think it's anything to worry about. There are some small dents and scratches on the
, but considering it's a vintage item from the 70's, there are no unnatural scratches that are particularly noticeable.
The paint film on the head and top is floating and turning white in some places, but I think this is something that can't be helped as a Japabin.
The pegs have been replaced with Goto 510 series, and the operability is very smooth.

The neck condition is good and generally straight, and the current string height is about 2.5mm on the 6th string and 2.0mm on the 1st string above the 12th fret, which is the best setting.
The saddle is also a little more OK, so you can further fine-tune the string height.
The frets seem to have been refretted, and there are no noticeable dents, and almost 100% of the height remains.

It looks quite cool. This is a rare model recommended for those looking for a unique guitar that is different from others!

A SKB light case is included.
