Payment
With rare exception, I do my listings as Buy it Now with an option to make a best offer. Although I generally price my items lower than the other listings for the same or a comparable item, I consider all reasonable offers. However, if I have only had something listed for a day or less, I will usually not accept anything less than a dollar or two off, because my experience tells me that my item will sell for full price if I wait a few hours, or even minutes. Per eBay policy, payments are due immediately and the item will remain available for others to purchase until it is paid for. Best Offers accepted on Buy it Now items are also due immediately. Payment on auction items is due within two (2) days after bidding closes and my eBay account is set to automatically open an unpaid item case if payment is not made within this time. If the buyer has requested more time from me, I will stop ebay from doing this. So if circumstances are such that you are unable to pay within this time, please let me know before bidding or making an offer and I will be happy to grant a reasonable extension of time in which to pay. Communication is the key to a successful transaction for both parties.
I will accept any form of payment that doesn't violate eBay policy.
Shipping
I will gladly ship items internationally. Please note that when an item says "Free Shipping", this means for domestic shipping within the 48 contiguous states only; however, upon request, I will be happy to reduce the international shipping charge appropriately to reflect the free domestic shipping as offered. If there is no pricing available on the listing for shipping to your country, just ask and I can provide you with a quote. I will combine multiple items for savings on shipping when practically possible. Items which qualify as Media Mail will be sent this way and items that weigh less than 16 ounces with packing will be sent First Class, otherwise, I will send the item by Priority Mail, FedEx or UPS, but Parcel Post is not cheaper for some odd reason - the shipping price I am quoting is always the least expensive option, and my price quote is an average cost for shipping for the weight of the item - when I have to send it to Seattle or New York, I usually lose money; likewise I save a little bit if the buyer lives in Texas or a neighboring state.
I do not charge any handling fees, nor do I charge for the packing and shipping materials that I use. The shipping cost listed is my best estimate of what the actual postage will be. On fragile items, the shipping cost includes insurance. Sometimes, often in fact, it costs more to ship the item than estimated and the additional cost comes out of my profit. On the rare occasion that the shipping cost paid is substantially more (as in $1 or $2 or more - depending on the price of the item) than the actual cost, I will refund that difference to the buyer, and I am always willing to get an exact quote for shipping on an item to a buyer's zip code and adjust the shipping cost accordingly (if it is less - if it is more, I will still honor the quoted price, except as stated above). Note: due to the recent rate hikes by both FedEx and USPS, and some new pricing mechanism called "dimensional weight", large items, even those that do not weigh that much are crazy expensive to ship, and I'm starting to phase them out of my inventory - or offer only local pick-up - however, many things listed have been posted since before the hike so there may be some shipping issues that arise after the sale which we can discuss if it becomes necessary. I don't mind losing a little profit but I can't afford to pay $100 extra in shipping on a $40 item, which has actually happened. I had never used them until the recent hike but UPS has ended up offering me the best price several times lately.
I ship within one to two business days (whatever the listing says) from receipt of payment, sometimes sooner. My items ship from Houston, Texas, where they are also available for local pick up (and the shipping cost will be removed). Tracking is provided on all shipped items. You will receive an email from eBay when the item ships, provided you have your eBay notifications set to "on". You can also click on the Tracking Number on the item's description page or order details to view shipping status.
Terms of Sale
Returns accepted within thirty (30) days of transaction. Return shipping paid by buyer unless I made an error that caused a misrepresentation of the item, in which case I will pay the return shipping, by reimbursement or I can send a return label. If you have buyer's remorse or just a change of mind, or in the case of a purchase resulting from a buyer's failure to read the listing description, I must require the buyer to pay return shipping. Additionally, the refund will be for the purchase price of the item only and will not include the shipping that I have already paid.
Items kept longer than 30 days, not in their original condition, or which have been damaged due to buyer's negligence or misuse will not be accepted back.
For these reasons it is important to ask all questions you may have before purchasing an item. If your remorse kicks in before I've shipped the item, I have no problem canceling the transaction.
About Us
I do my best to describe all items as honestly and accurately as possible. Although I'm not an expert on everything I list, I take great time and care in researching the items I sell in order to determine the item's origin, age, background and other relevant details (more time than I should, in fact). Usually I get a jump start from my mother who is a seasoned garage saler and thrift store shopper. She has been collecting antiques, curios, knick-knacks and other collectibles for over 60 years and she has an eagle eye when it comes to finding the valuable and desired things among the junk. She is often the one who originally purchased the item I have been given to sell. In fact, aside from the electronics and video game-related items I sell when my teenage boys decide to switch consoles, and the rock memorabilia from my formative years, 90% of the things I list come from my childhood home where my parents still live. I could sell things from there for many years and not run out. However, I also shop for things myself to sell and sell things I bought for myself or my kids that we don't use or wear.
Pictures shown in the listing are of the actual item for sale and I try hard to take photographs that accurately and clearly represent the item. They are considered part of the description. If you need or would like a picture of a part of the item that is not shown, just ask. I do my best not to sell misrepresented items and I try to provide as much detail in the item's description as possible, but if there is something else you want to know, just ask. If I can't answer your question myself, Mom is just a phone call away.
