Add a touch of Victorian charm to your garden or outdoor space with this antique Cast Iron Lamp Post, crafted from cast iron and finished in a classic green hue.
The intricate detailing and elegant design make it a standout piece for any architectural antiques collector. Ideal for illuminating a pathway, drive or garden feature, this lamp post is a quality piece from the renowned F. Parkin Bonhay Foundry in Exeter (and the maker's name is cast into it). It is a perfect addition to any antique lover's collection - far better to have the genuine article than a mass-produced reproduction one !
The lamp post is octagonal in cross section and is approximately 2.5 metres tall to the base of where the lantern would go. It is heavy - approx. 200kg (the white rope shown in the pics is to assist in handling it).
The cast iron lamp post has a small piece missing at the bottom, and in the bottom there is some concrete remaining from when it was fixed in the garden here. You can see it in the pics. The missing piece should not be a problem because it would be expected to bury in the ground to this depth in order to ensure a good foundation. The bar where the lamp lighter would have rested his ladder is also slightly damaged but this could be fixed with a little welding.
Please note that the lantern which goes with this lamp post is not included in this listing because of slight damage. However I will give it to the successful buyer if they want it, and it should be easily repairable. I have not shown a picture of this lantern because it is preserved in a protective wrapping; however I can send a photo to the successful buyer. I have included a picture of a similar lantern on another similar lamp post that we have in the garden to show how the lantern looks - but this one is not included in this listing.
Due to its weight, it is collection only and no postage is offered.
