I offer you this engraving around 1720. Laid paper mounted on wove paper. The vellum sheet engraving is: 30.7 cm by 22.2 cm, the laid sheet is 29.8 cm by 21.7 cm, the engraving alone is 28.2 cm by 19.7 cm.

 

Bernard PICART (1673-1733)

Engraver, draftsman, painter of mythological scenes, allegorical subjects, portraits, miniatures.

His master was his father, Benoît Audran and Sébastien Leclerc.

French, he emigrated to Amsterdam to take up the Protestant religion.

He made the link between the Flemish and French schools. He is considered the best Flemish engraver of the first third of the 18th century.
