Offering this very early DR D JAYNE INDIAN EXPECTORANT…PHILADA.

Bottle is 5” tall. Condition is solid with two tiny potstones slightly protruding the surface of the bottle. See close up photo on either side of D IN PHILADA. One on left has a tiny one line crow foot other one a tiny bruise. Lip has a tiny chip mostly on underside of flared lip. Tough bottle to photograph as the embossing is extremely crude.

This medication was Jayne’s first and produced in the mid 1830s. Not sure when he started using embossed bottles or when the INDIAN was dropped. The plain expectorant was one of his most popular medicines and produced for close to 100 years. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Shipping and insurance will be $10.40 anywhere in the US.
