Maynard Ferguson (May 4, 1928 – August 23, 2006) was a jazz trumpeter and bandleader. First noticed in Stan Kenton's orchestra. He formed his own big band in 1957. He was noted his ability to play in a high register.

M.F. Horn is his second album on Columbia Records, and the first of the "M.F. Horn" series.
