My father brought this back when he returned from occupying Japan as a Marine in WWII and unfortunately I know little to nothing about them. An antique dealer once told me they were they dragons.

Please see the photos and perhaps you will know more about this piece than I do. I don’t know what it’s made of but it’s not wood or resin. It was definitely hand carved. It seems like a real treasure based on the incredible detail.
