Nikon F3 HP w/MD-4 Motor Drive
Up for bids is this used Nikon F3 HP pro camera body & drive
Anyone that knows cameras knows that the Nikon F3 was the staple body in almost every pro photographer's arsenal from its debut in 1980 until the mid 90's when the F4 finally made enough of a stronghold in the autfocus arena to encourage enought pros to make the switch.
Condition
The camera is used and has some light wear. The Motor drive shows more paint wear.
I photographed all sides for you to draw your own conclusion as grading cosmetics is subjective. Shutter curtains are light tight without damage. Battery holder is clean. No fungus in the finder. Light wear to the focusing screen. Mirror bump is excellent. Some cosmetic damage atop of the sync plate; does not affect operation.
Operationally, the camera is performing well with the motor drive attached. All shutter speeds fire and sound reasonably accurate. The self timer is working as well. The light meter is reacting to light and gives similar readings to my personal F3.
When the motor drive is not attached, the camera is not getting any power from its own battery chamber. Attached, it draws power from the motor drive, so to use it in its current state, you need to use it with the motor drive to get full functionality. The battery check is not working on the motor drive; a common issue with the MD-4s.
If you are planning to put it into regular use, its recommended you get a CLA (clean, lube, adjustment and seals) just to make sure everything is 100% to original factory spec.
