The new SLX 11-speed cassette features outstanding switching performance, acceptable weight and high wear resistance. Thanks to a fine grading optimized for 1x11 drives, the gear changes succeed very precisely and with short switching pauses.

An intelligent material mix of aluminum and steel increases the life, but at the same time reduces the weight of the cassette. For example, the basic body (spider), the lock ring and the largest pinion are weight-saving made of aluminum. The remaining pinions, on the other hand, are made of steel, which not only reduces wear, but also generates more stiffness in order to convert the entire force into propulsion.
