NEW Classification - NWA 15124 (H4) - 15.3 g meteorite slice (Chondrule-city) This is my 9th classification and is great representation of an NWA H4 chondrite.  W2/3, S2

The classification of NWA 15124 was done by A. Irving, UWS, and J. Boesenberg, BrownU in 2022.

History: Purchased in July 2020 from a Spanish dealer, who had obtained the material from a Moroccan source.

Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and J. Boesenberg, BrownU) Relatively small, well-formed equilibrated chondrules containing devitrified glass and plagioclase are set in a relatively coarse grained matrix containing extensively altered kamacite, chromite, troilite, merrillite and abundant secondary Fe oxides, but no plagioclase.

Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa19.4±0.3, range Fa19.2-20.0, N = 10), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs17.0±0.2Wo1.3±0.3, range Fs16.6-17.3Wo0.9-1.7, N = 8).

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H4).

Specimens: 22.4 g including one polished thin section at UWB; remainder with Mr. J. Divelbiss.
