President Grant directs the Secretary of State to affix the seal of the United States to "a warrant for the pardon of John Mc Cleary" dated this day and signed by means for doing so this shall be his warrant.

Signed boldly at the conclusion by U. S. Grant and dated February 6, 1871.

Document measures 11 by 8.5 inches and is in very fine condition.  Nice Grant signature on a well preserved document.
