Beautiful handmade wooden receptacle - although its original use is unknown it has a very shallow base with lid, and looks similar to containers used to hold Holy Communion wafers.

It's base would make a lovely wide candle stand or it is simply an unusual trinket dish, or sweet bowl.

Measures approximately 28cm tall with lid.

Width at top approximately 18.5cm.

Width at base approximately 13cm.

A felt base has been added at a later date.

Because it is handmade there are imperfections.

Notably the lid doesn't sit flush - it just rests on top and there is a small break in the wood on the underneath of the lid at the edge.

Overall it is in very good vintage condition.
