The adidas Ultra Boost Grey Shock Mint arrives in a unique colourway for the Summer 2016 collection. In the wake of a hugely successful year for adidas, we have even more iterations of their Ultra Boost landing every week. Most notable has been their Uncaged model which gives a contemporary and minimalist style to this highly sought after runner. Although many of those have sold out within minutes, the conventional models such as this one, continue to perform just as well.

Given the one of a kind look, and unbeatable comfort, it’s not hard to see why. This pair features the gradient affect upper. It sees a variety of greys and blacks hit the weaved material, giving a textured look which has become so desirable these days. To compliment, darker elements feature throughout including the lace surround, inner lining and outsole.

The addition of shock mint makes this pair so unusual. It hits the rear heel overlay and gives some eye-popping colour to an otherwise sleek rendition. Finally, you can look forward to that impressive Boost midsole which delivers comfort unlike anything you’re likely to have experienced. Another exciting colourway to join the range, we can’t wait to see what you guys think.

Probably the most comfiest trainers EVER MADE!

Primed for long-distance runners, the adidas Men’s Ultraboost Shoe features boost™ for an energy-returning ride and Primeknit for a comfortable, locked-in fit.

Boost™ features in the midsole for an exceptional, energy-returning ride. The unique cell structure of boost™ allows each capsule to store and then unleash energy, providing durable, adaptable, all-temperature performance. STRETCHWEB adapts to every runner’s foot strike by unleashing the full potential of boost™ and provides a smoother and more flexible ride.
While the TORSION SYSTEM® supports the arch and provides midfoot integrity, the FITFRAME 3D-moulded TPU helps to increase stability around the heel and enables the free motion of the Achilles tendon.
The Ultraboost features a Primeknit construction, which reduces irritation and moulds to the contours of the foot, delivering a precision fit and a secure, locked-in feel. The Continental™ rubber outsole provides superior traction in both wet and dry conditions.

WHAT IS BOOST?

It's hard to imagine adidas without Boost—the revolutionary performance shoe technology that first hit the pavement in 2013. Boost was unlike anything that came before, and its energy return technology would go on to change the course of running forever. Today, adidas continues to iterate Boost and push the concept even further ahead.

WHAT IS ADIDAS BOOST TECHNOLOGY?

adidas Boost technology is a product of the adidas Innovation Team (AIT) and German chemists BASF. It was created to bring together the formerly contradictory benefits of soft and responsive cushioning. At the time, EVA foam was the industry standard for performance running shoes. Boost was about to change all that, introducing a midsole made from thousands of expanded particles that work together to deliver an uptick of energy return in every stride.

Boost was officially integrated into the adidas running line in 2013. Over the following years, Boost would make a name for itself as an icon of running, eventually becoming so popular that it would break into the world of sports and streetwear culture.

HOW IS BOOST MADE?

To create Boost, thermoplastic polyurethane particles are expanded to form closed cells around tiny pockets of air. The resulting product is known as expanded thermoplastic polyurethane—or eTPU, for short.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BOOST?

Boost has always been known for its energy return, but there are actually five Boost benefits that elevate the running experience. Let's start with comfort: the cushioning properties of Boost make it feel like you’re running on tiny, precision-engineered clouds. Boost is also designed to cope with a wide range of temperatures, making it the kind of running shoe that can pound through wind, snow, sun, rain—whatever—with no issues.

The third and fourth benefits of Boost are durability and flexibility. Boost is a technology that can hold up for mile after mile without any loss of performance. At the same time, Boost is flexible enough to provide a silky smooth ride—no matter what pace you’re setting.

But we can't talk about Boost without talking about energy return—the fifth and most famous benefit of Boost. The power to absorb and return more of an athlete’s kinetic output is what changed the performance shoe industry forever. There have been many imitators, but Boost remains the icon of energy return.
