A scarce rolled advertising sheet published by the Washburn Crosby Company (New York, USA), "printed in the USA … 1929 by R Mallory." The Company produced Gold Medal Flour.

An unusual and attractive item, one of a series produced each year, I think with a calendar. I am selling another on ebay published in 1930 (with early aviation interest): both are missing something in the bottom central panel which I suspect was a calendar for that year.

Both sheets have a world map at the top. This 1929 sheet has a feature on World Time, with a display of various world times beneath the map. The map shows a world with Rhodesia, Siam, Burma, the Union of Soviet Republics, etc. and no Pakistan - all as one would expect.

At the bottom, there is a table showing details of the wheat harvest in various parts of the world, and in the middle a wheat crop chart which at one time had a calendar over it.

In addition there are inset maps of NW Europe, and the Caribbean, and blurb praising Washburn's Gold Medal Flour.
The design surrounding the world map, involving stems of wheat, is most attractive.

A rare item of cartographic and advertising interest.

Size: unrolled, the sheet measures 83cms x 54.5cms.
Condition: Small dents in the margins, but overall in a good condition. Something (a calendar?) has been removed from the bottom centre panel, leaving 3 small tears now repaired. Otherwise very acceptable.

£4.75 postage within the UK. £12.00 to Europe, £18.00 to USA etc.
