The Queen’s Beasts collection draws inspiration from the ten heraldic statues that stood vigil at the coronation of Her Majesty The Queen in 1953, designed by the renowned James Woodford RA. Positioned at Westminster Abbey for the ceremony, these statues are a monumental six feet in height. Each beast represents a segment of the royal heritage that culminated in the crowning of a young queen. They echo the King’s Beasts of Henry VIII, which are found adorning the bridge over the moat at Hampton Court Palace, and have been heraldic symbols for the royal lineage across generations.
