From an online description of this newsletter:

“The official journal of the New Orleans Jazz Club, The Second Line was started in April 1950 to celebrate individuals ‘who have taken up the cudgels for Jazz’, including musicians, promoters, teachers, and enthusiasts. The focus of The Second Line was centrally on the New Orleans scene and the annual October jazz festival, but it also profiled regional varieties of jazz from southern California to Florida, as well as noting its popularity in Canada, England, and Austria. It is worth spending a moment on this magazine as a forum for showcasing regional music.”

I have obtained a small collection of 123 magazines ranging in time from 1950 to 1983.  I will be posting them in four lots.  They do have wear; I will be describing wear issues associated with each lot.  Still, all but maybe one or two of the magazines are complete and legible.  There were instances of rust wear on these stapled newsletters and moisture impacts.  These are ULTRA RARE; ORIGINAL COPIES copies which are not normally found online for sale or otherwise.

This lot is for 34 magazines between 1975 and 1983.  These issues were glossy paper, staple bound.  There is light rust seen on all the staples.  There is light soiling seen on most of the magazine covers, interiors very clean.  There is a light moisture impact to some of the 1975 and 76 issues, resulting in a light stain and light waviness near the magazine bottoms and corners, sometimes on the magazine tops, and finally a bit of stickiness sometimes when this was found (pages were separated for this listing). They are being stored and shipped shrink-wrapped to stiff cardboard. Issues in this lot include:

1975, Vol 27:  Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall
1976, Vol 28:  Winter, Spring, Summer (small tear damage to front cover), Fall
1977, Vol 29:  Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall
1978, Vol 30:  Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall
1979, Vol 31:  Winter (which mistakenly had Vol. XXI, small damage to cover),Spring (which mistakenly had Vol. XXXII), Fall
1980, Vol 32:  Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall
1981, Vol 33:  Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall
1982, Vol 34:  Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall
1983, Vol 35:  Winter, Spring, Summer
