Description: 27x18cm, 14 lines on nicely colored American Columbine flower stationary. Dated in 1947, from Mansfield Missouri, and boldly signed by Wilder. In original mailing envelope, additionally signed by Wilder and hand-addressed. The letter is nicely preserved with transmittal folds. The envelope is torn and opened on two sides, otherwise legible and intact.
Charming letter from Laura Ingalls Wilder in response to a Mrs. Mary Hann of Venice, California. In full:
"Mansfield, Missouri. January 2nd, 1947. Dear Mrs. Hann,
Thank you for the lovely Christmas card and for your dear letter. I am proud that you enjoy my Little House Books so much. You have had a very eventful life and we seem to have covered-wagon memories in common. Those were great days. Were they not? You are only a little way ahead of me on life's journey, for I will be eighty years old the 7th of next February. With love and all good wishes. Your Friend, Laura Ingalls Wilder."
