Marquis M. Converse founded the Converse Rubber Shoe Company in Malden, Massachusetts (USA) in 1908. In 1917 the company presented its first basketball shoe, the Converse All Star in black. Converse was one of the official suppliers at the 1984 Olympic Games. Basketball legends such as Magic Johnson and Larry Bird also worked with the traditional brand. The product range now also includes jogging, tennis, children's, skate and casual shoes. The Chuck Taylor All Star has now achieved worldwide fame and has already been sold over 600 million times - making it the best-selling sneaker worldwide.
