TheHunting inspector Rotteken (also demonstrable as a forest inspector) turns to the consistory secretary Krohn in Detmold.

Friedrich Ernst August Roetteken (* 1. May 1794 in Lemgo, died. 28. May 1875 ibid.) was dismissed from office as a result of the revolution in 1848, but was then reinstated against the will of the population. He was probably the father of the Lemgo-born landscape painter Carl Rötteken (1831-1900)?

Excerpts: "Dear friend! The appraisal, surveying and quartering [[=mapping]] of the Betzer Hinterberg has been completed and would have been completed earlier if the bad weather had allowed the survey to be carried out earlier. My college Meiercord will come to me tomorrow or the day after to discuss the report together [...]. Kindly yours E. Rötteken."

The author can be traced as both F. Rötteken and Ernst Rötteken.

Ran as a pre-philatelic cover (black postmark Lemgo, 30. October 1855).

Format: 24.8 x 18.7 cm (folded 8 x 11.8 cm).

Condition: Strong paper somewhat stained; the seal is half missing (with paper damage in this area). BPlease also note the pictures!
