VW T5, professionally converted Campervan
Transporter T32, 2008 plate 102 (1.9cc) TDI Short Wheel Base.
We’re selling our fantastic stealth adventure camper van. Professionally converted from a Shuttle Van in 2012 with various units, fridge/freezer, rock and roll bed (with loads of storage space underneath), sink and 2 hob cooker, leisure battery and power control unit. We’ve upgraded the battery and included an inverter, installed swivel seats on both the front double bench seat and drivers seat, then in 2016 had a Austop pop top (with roof rack) added. Incudes 2 fixed strip lights, together with 3 touch sensitive adjustable drop lights in the roof. Most recently we’ve updated the black out curtains. So all in all a fantastic functioning adventure van in stealthy metallic grey.
The Van has been well looked after but shows signs of use and wear commensurate with its age (and having had many adventures with some young kids!). There’s some corrosion (gelled) on the sliding door and sill which may need some further attention and a few minor bumps and scratches (several on the back roof from loading boats onto the roof rack; sorry!), with over 243,000 miles on the clock.
Note the cross bars on the roof rack are not included in this sale.
Over the last few years, in addition to the servicing, we've replaced the gear box, clutch and dual mass flywheel in 2019, and drive EGR and Turbo last year (so a few less things to be concerned about now!) I’ve also just replaced 2 tyres and brake pads. It is due a service which I can try and get done for the winning bidder if they're happy to wait although our local garage is busy up until the end of the auction.
This is the 1.9 TDI version (the more reliable of the T5s), with electric windows and air con. We’ve also fitted a Pioneer App radio (so you can plug your iPhone or Android phone for all the associated CarPlay magic).
The vans taxed until June 2024 with the MOT valid until the 26th of September 2024.
Vans based in North Wales, near Betws y Coed, and still in use so the milage will go up slightly. Get in touch if you want more info/ photos or want to come and have a look. Update for those who followed or were keen last time!
Some may have noticed the van was listed and sold! Unfortunately the buyer had found another van and couldn't work out how to retract their bid (or amend their highest offer as others went for it) before the auction ended. Ebay didn't give an option to give the other bidders a second chance so here we are!
I have added a few photos highlighting the are of the sill and sliding door mentioned in the description above as potentially needing some further attention, but there are not mechanical or other issues with the van.
