Item Description

Washburn Chicago Series KC-100 (1990s)

In Japan, the brand "Washburn" is known for "N4", which is used by Nuno Bettencourt.

It is a brand that is more well-known overseas than in Japan, and is actively selling not only electric guitars but also acoustic guitars, and has gained support from a wide range of players, centering on original models with unique shapes. .

This device is one of those original models, and is a Japanese-made model named the "Chicago Series."
Even though it's made domestically, what kind of Chicago is it? I sometimes wonder (lol)

What's more, this is an extremely rare prototype that was discovered at a certain musical instrument factory a few years ago!

The series itself seems to have been produced from the late 80's to the 90's, but since there is no indication of the year of manufacture of this unit, it is unknown what year it was.

It is commonly known as a dinky type, but it has unique specifications such as a curved body with an arched top and arched back, a set neck with a heel cut like a through neck, and a concord head, and is named Cracked Red. This is a one-of-a-kind guitar with an impactful finish.

Even if all the parts are removed, there is no visible wood, so the wood used is unknown, but the "KC-100" that was sold regularly has a maple body, rose fingerboard, and maple set. Since it was described as a neck, I think this instrument is also similar.

Are the pickups original? The front and center are quarter pound type single coils, the rear is a humbucker SSH style, and is equipped with an active booster.

The control knobs are master volume (pull to tap the rear P.U coil), booster level, and master tone.
The mini switch is an on/off switch for each pickup, and with just this combination, you can create a sound that is hard to believe is coming from a single guitar!

The bridge is a Floyd Rose licensed tremolo (manufactured by Takeuchi), the pegs are Goto, and you can feel the attention to detail in the parts.

Although the details are unknown, this is a prototype, but it is a high-quality guitar that has the three characteristics of the Dinky type: high playability, wide sound variation, and original appearance. .

There are small scratches and slight cracks on the body, one crack on the back of the 2nd fret of the neck, and a paint crack on the neck binding, but none of the damage seems to interfere with play. .

Also, the rod cover and tremolo back panel are missing.

About 80% of the frets remain, the neck is currently straight and the rod is OK.

By the way, we will refrain from providing details of the factory where it was discovered (even if we ask, we will not be able to provide an answer),
It's like a souvenir from a master craftsman from the Showa era...Personally, it was a guitar that made me feel a lot of emotions when I played it.

This is truly a one-of-a-kind guitar and is recommended as a collector's item.
