I am selling a number of very pretty antique Mason’s Ironstone side and supper plates in the Jardiniere pattern in an Art Deco style.  The pattern consists of vibrant hand painted flower designs in bright colours primarily orange, bright blue, green and yellow against a cream background bordered with geometric designs around the rims.

Mason’s pottery was set up by Miles Mason in 1800 in Fenton in Staffordshire in the UK and he experimented with earthenware to enable his pottery to be manufactured more easily, quickly and cheaply than that of his rivals.

These pretty side and supper plates are in lovely condition and the hand painted colours are still bright and vibrant.

Each piece is stamped in blue to the base with the words “Mason’s Patent Ironstone China, Jardiniere Pattern, England” along with the pattern number C2368.  The Jardiniere pattern was first applied in the 1870s and was continued in various forms throughout the history of the pottery.

The dimensions of the side plates are:  diameter 7.75 in / 16 cm with a height of 0.75 in / 2 cm.

The dimensions of the supper plates are: diameter 8.5 in / 22 cm with a height of 0.75 in / 2 cm.

These attractive plates are very decorative and would make a lovely addition to a collection of Mason’s Ironstone pieces.  For absolute completeness there are some very tiny losses to the brown hand painted edging to the plates which does not show when the plates are displayed.

I am selling various Mason’s Ironstone items in the same design, please see my other listings.
