Life: Born as the son of the mayor of Sprottau, he studied law in Breslau after attending high school in Glogau. During his studies he became a member of the old Breslau fraternity Arminia in 1820. Because of his fraternity activities, he was expelled from the university senate in 1822 and was therefore no longer allowed to study at any German university; In 1824 he was pardoned so that he could finish his studies in Breslau. Because of a false statement in 1821 regarding his membership in a fraternity, he had to serve eight weeks in prison. After completing his studies, he became a district and city judge in 1834 and district court director in 1846.
