1936 Press Photo Dick Farman talks to reporters during strikes in France

This is an original press photo. Strikes spread in France. "Folded Arms" strikes for higher wages, shorter hours and collective bargaining are spreading through France, causing fears of a general strike which would paralyze the country, as Leon Blum's formation of a Socialist Coalition government was undertaken. It was estimated, June 4, that 500,000 workers were out. Photo shows "Dick" Farman, director of the famous aviation works bearing his name, pictured at the Billacourt factory recently after a conference with striking "stay-in" employees. He is shown talking to reporters.Photo measures 7 x 9.25inches. Photo is dated 06-04-1936.
