Exquisite antique Neo-Gothic hand carved wood sculptural bracket wall shelf. Dating to the second half of the 19th century. Exceptional construction with superb hand carved details. Featuring a hand carved whimsical mascaron figure at the bottom surrounded by stylized acanthus. Perhaps the head of a Green Man, with mouth open and long serpent tongue out. Finely detailed and skillfully hand carved. Embellished with gadroon borders and carved foliage done in raised relief. A beautiful piece and ready to hang. In very good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age. Measures 13 3/4" length x 6 1/4" width x 8 1/4" deep.
