SUMMARY: Modelled on the official state portrait of the Chinese Communist leader, Warhol's silkscreen print of Moa Zedong in 1972 was destined to be one of the 20th century's iconic artworks. In this version depicting Mao wearing lipstick in a playful if not somewhat provocative colourful image... SIMPLY FABULOUS!!!


An item of superb quality, it was commissioned by El Mundo of Spain in 2007. It bears the title and artist with year below the plate, and verso the support are corroborative details in Spanish, with reference catalogued in lead. Immediately 'ready for framing, the lithograph will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity detailing the origins of the item.
