This gemstone is all about that color! Neon blue that grabs your attention and won't let it go! This neon blue apatite measures 9.5x8.2x6.07mm, is oval cut with an out of balance pavilion, is I2 clarity, and completely untreated. This gem is heavily included, so there is sparkle but not a great deal of it.
The point of this stone is its color and what a color it is! As you can see in the photos and video, this is an intense neon blue that is rarely seen. You can also see that the stone has some abrasions along its facet edges and girdle. Keep in mind that apatite is a soft stone, with a Mohs hardness of about 5 (meaning it's softer than glass and can be scratched and damaged easily). It is occasionally used in rings because the color of a neon apatite is too good to pass up, but it doesn't really do well in rings. We recommend a pendant with a protective setting, or simply add this stunning color to your gem collection!
So far, these neon blue apatites have only been found in Madagascar. They are completely untreated except for cut and polish. Imagine stumbling across a stone that has this color without any treatment at all!
