Instructions for Use

USING A MANUAL LENS

Using a manual lens effectively on your Nikon camera is simple, will give you full creative control over the images you shoot, and will significantly improve your skills in photography. Here are the four basic things you need to know to get you started. 1) You must focus the lens manually by turning the lens focus barrel. 2) You must set the zoom range (420mm, 600mm, 800mm, etc.) by sliding the lens focus barrel to the desired range. 3) You must change the shutter setting in your camera to "Release Without Lens". 4) You must set your camera to either Aperture Priority (A) mode or Manual (M) mode. It's that simple.
