HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: This Historic event from Madison Square Garden featured, Shane McMahon introducing WCW World champion Booker T to the crowd at WWF NY, with Booker then challenging Austin; Austin agreed to the challenge and brought Angle with him but by the time they arrived at WWF NY, Booker and Shane had already left the building; moments later, Shane came ringside to interrupt Vince’s promo, distracting Vince just long enough for Booker T to come into the ring from behind; once Vince saw Booker, he took a punch; Booker responded with a flurry of blows, ending with the scissors kick; seconds later, the Acolytes, Kaientai, Raven, Justin Credible, K-Kwick, Dean Malenko, and several others ran to the ring as Booker escaped through the crowd (Booker T’s MSG debut).  The card also featured the MSG debuts of DDP, Jerry Lynn, Mike Awesome, Rhyno and Tajiri.

Guido Maritato & Tony Mamaluke defeated Danny Doring & Roadkill (the MSG debuts of all four men)

Raw is War – included an opening in-ring promo by Vince McMahon in which he addressed the rumor the night before that Chris Jericho or Chris Benoit were planning to defect to WCW should they have won the WWF World Title the night before; McMahon then bragged about the win by Steve Austin, despite the interference of WCW World Champion Booker T; he went on to say the T in Booker T stood for terrible, trash, and temporarily employed; McMahon went on to say it was still his goal to put WCW and Shane McMahon out of business, adding that no WCW star should be in the building because it was hallowed ground and the house the WWF helped build; McMahon then showed the WWF Hall of Fame tribute video to Vince McMahon Sr., with comments from Freddie Blassie and Gorilla Monsoon; McMahon then guaranteed the fans more memorable moments at MSG later in the night; featured a backstage segment with Vince, Austin, and Debra in which McMahon complained about the two being late, and allowing a WCW wrestler to steal one of his belts; Austin then told Vince he didn’t care, and said Vince wasn’t there when he needed him the night before when his back was against the wall; after Austin told Vince that Vince didn’t really care about him, the two ended up hugging; included a video tribute to Bruno Sammartino for his accomplishments at MSG; featured a backstage segment with the Big Show and Trish Stratus, with Show noting he was challenging for the WWF European Title later and asked if Trish wanted to take a european vacation with him after he wins it; included a backstage segment with Kurt Angle, Austin, McMahon, and Debra in which McMahon congratulated Angle on beating his son Shane McMahon; Austin then mocked Angle’s concussion, and said he had to deal with worse the night before and he won; Vince then invited Angle to join them, with Austin staring at Angle; featured a video tribute to Superstar Billy Graham and his accomplishments at MSG; included a backstage segment with Austin, Angle, Vince, and Debra in which Austin quietly asked Vince if they could get rid of Angle, with Vince saying he was concerned about Angle since the King of the Ring ceremony was coming up and he needed to be around someone; Angle then brought up all the similarities between he and Austin before joking they could be related; featured an in-ring ceremony in which Commissioner William Regal and Tajiri awarded the 2001 King of the Ring trophy to Edge; moments later, Billy Gunn interrupted, bitter over having won the tournament himself two years prior but never having the opportunity to defend it, and having to spend the previous night at WWF NY; after trading insults, the two agreed to a match for later in the night; included Shane McMahon introducing WCW World champion Booker T to the crowd at WWF NY, with Booker then challenging Austin; Austin agreed to the challenge and brought Angle with him but by the time they arrived at WWF NY, Booker and Shane had already left the building; moments later, Shane came ringside to interrupt Vince’s promo, distracting Vince just long enough for Booker T to come into the ring from behind; once Vince saw Booker, he took a punch; Booker responded with a flurry of blows, ending with the scissors kick; seconds later, the Acolytes, Kaientai, Raven, Justin Credible, K-Kwick, Dean Malenko, and several others ran to the ring as Booker escaped through the crowd (Booker T’s MSG debut):

Rhyno pinned WWF Hardcore Champion Test to win the title at 4:33 after hitting the Gore backstage; seconds later, 

Mike Awesome ran down the hall, hitting Rhyno with a lead pipe and then powerbombing him onto a steel ladder to win the title (Rhyno’s MSG debut; Awesome’s surprise debut)

X-Pac pinned WWF Light Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy to win the title at 3:11 with a backslide and putting his feet on the ropes for leverage after the champion failed a Swanton

Tazz defeated Steven Richards at the 13-second mark via submission with the Tazzmission; prior to the bout, Richards cut an in-ring promo against the NYC crowd

WWF Tag Team Champions the Dudley Boyz defeated the Undertaker (w/ Sara) & WWF IC Champion Kane at 4:51 when D-Von pinned Kane after Albert interfered and hit the Baldo Bomb; after the bout, Kane chased Albert backstage while Diamond Dallas Page knocked Taker out with a chair shot on the ramp before ripping out a lock of Sara’s hair (DDP’s MSG debut)

The Big Show (w/ Trish Stratus) defeated WWF European Champion Matt Hardy (w/ Lita) via disqualification at 3:12 when Lita hit a low blow on the challenger to prevent the chokeslam

Edge (w/ Christian) pinned Billy Gunn at 6:18 with the DDT after Christian interfered

Chris Jericho pinned Tajiri (w/ William Regal) with the bulldog and Lionsault at 5:11 after Tajiri accidentally sprayed mist into Regal’s face (Tajiri’s MSG debut)
