300 x 240mm. x, 890pp. with 26 plates. Buond in the publisher's green boards. From the library of the mountaineer and geologist, Lawrence 'Bill' Wager (1905-1965), best remembered for his part in the 1933 Everest Expedition, during which he reached the highest point reached in mountaineering up to that time, and the highest without supplemental oxygen, a record not surpassed until 1978. Wager is also known for his research in and exploration of Greenland.

Condition

The binding is rather rubbed and age mottled, worn to the corners and in other places. The spine strip starting to come away from the backstrip, otherwise a sound copy given its weight. Front hinge week but holding, rear hinge cracked but still reasonably stable. nternally, end papers a little foxed, otherwise tight and clean.
