1953 Press Photo Fed. Reserve Bank worker operates a currency incinerator, Ohio

This is an original press photo. Take a good look -- that's some $500,000 going up in flames at the Federal Reserve Bank in Cleveland, Ohio. It may make your hands itch, but it doesn't bother Joseph Ostendorf. He burns the stuff daily. The bills are discarded because they are dirty or mutilated. The currency is burned in a special 7 1/2-ton incinerator, perfected last July. US Currency.Photo measures 9 x 7.25inches. Photo is dated 12-10-1953.

Part Number: nec40840

Please look at the images below carefully to determine the condition of this vintage photograph, as it may not be in perfect condition. It may contain wrinkles, cracks, and possibly even tears due to its age and how it was handled before it got to us.  A scanner may see a photograph differently than human eyes will, so it is possible that the actual photograph may be slightly darker or lighter in person.
