This is an antique stoneware canning fruit jar, made in the US between 1800-1899.

It is decorated with cobalt leaf designs on a gray-blue salt glaze. 

It is 10" tall and 6" wide.

From the North Eastern part of the US, my guess is Pennsylvania. 

I like how you can see the hand of the potter in the unevenness in the rim.  He or she must have been getting tired that day!
