1980 XS650 Special,

UK bike, historic vehicle, 

TAX EXEMPT, MOT EXEMPT, Great condition.

I have owned this classic for the last 4years+. It needed loads of work done to it to make it a usable daily runner so I have fixed each problem as they arrived.

It’s covered 8000+ miles since engine rebuild (10 mile a day work commute, ride outs as well as two 340 mile round trips)

Work carried out over the past two years;


Engine β€“ New piston rings, cam chain and both guides, valve stem seals, new crankshaft, head skimmed, all oil seals and gaskets, points, plugs & HT leads, 2x coils, condenser. Carburettors cleaned, new needles and jets and tuned, K&N replacement air filters (same design as originals), new drive chain and sprockets, 31 tooth rear (in stead of the stock 34) that makes duel carriageway riding easier, new intake rubbers and of course loads of routine maintenance and polishing.


Frame β€“ New rear swing arm needle bearings, cables all round, battery, Halogen headlamp conversion, XS1100 front twin disc conversion and XS1100 front brake master and lever, braided hoses, new rear shocks, front fork seal replacement and oil change, new tyres (3000 miles ago), new horn, repainted and polished wheels, new footrest rubbers, kick start lever, gear lever, original exhaust system, Oxford heated grips, new battery, Alternator Brush Set and much, much more.

 I also have the new original replacement seat cover (unfitted) plus the original high pull back handlebars and the ugly original grab rail thrown in with the purchase.
