Since the 1970s, Indian Special Forces commandos have worn the distinctive "fern" pattern camouflage, developed from the old British Denison camo of WW2. It was most notably donned by Indian Special Forces responding to the terrorist attack on Mumbai in 2008. Though superseded by other patterns for regular troops, fern camouflage continues to be worn as a mark of honor by Indian Special Forces. This Indian 1990s SPECIAL FORCES COMMANDO CUSTOM FERN CAMO DENISON STYLE JUMP SMOCK is in near mint condition, with only two small spots of sticky grayish soiling evident at the middle front hem (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the smock is in near mint shape, with absolutely no rips, holes, tears, or other damage to the crisp 100% cotton twill construction. Most interestingly, it's the scarce, desirable Size 44, retains nearly 100% of the vibrant Indian "fern" camouflage colors, and is a custom tailor made garment crafted similar to the British Denison smock of WW2, with a three snap quarter length pullover neck, 4 velcro flap closure front pockets, with the bottom two cut larger, a 6 snap faux "beaver tail" at the front hem, which actually acts as an open top pocket, elasticized cuffs, velcro closure shoulder straps, and a Western style "yoke" back. It sports all of the original, fully functional "yin and yang" style decorated darkened brass "glove" snap closures throughout, and is a beautiful example of a very rare, original Indian 1990s SPECIAL FORCES COMMANDO CUSTOM FERN CAMO DENISON STYLE JUMP SMOCK. We have shown a photo of Indian Special Forces commandos marching in formation, and all wearing similar "fern" camo Denison jump smocks. Now celebrating a quarter century on eBay.
