Pharmacological properties of ichthyol ointment are caused by the action of biologically active substances of ichthyol. Ichthyol ointment has an antimicrobial (bactericidal and bacteriostatic), anti-inflammatory and local analgesic effect.
It should be used for burns, eczema, hysteria, neuralgia, arthritis.
Avoid getting the ointment on the mucous membranes. Hands should be thoroughly washed after applying the ointment to prevent residual ointment from getting into the eyes, nose, and mouth.
