Classic Alpine A110 brushed aluminium nylon windscreen trim strip RETROFITABLE.

Specially developed for the Alpine A110, attached are some photos showing the brushed aluminium nylon trim strip installed in the front and rear windscreen rubbers.
They were installed after the windscreen glass had been fitted so it can be installed without having the trouble of removing the windscreens.

The photos show the brushed aluminium trim strips installed at the front and rear of the car. The rear fitment demonstrates that it can be installed as one continuous strip using only one connector clip. It could also be cut in half and shown as two pieces. To demonstrate this the front is shown as two pieces in traditional fashion using two connector clips. The clips are Renault #6000000135 or remanufactured items on sale from a number of well known Classic A110 parts sellers. The finish and colour of the clip is very similar to the new nylon insert.

Photos also show:
The insert in section in the rubber moulding, a portion of the brushed aluminium  nylon trim strip compared to a section of the original aluminium insert alongside it, the two compared again with an original connector clip and an engineering drawing of the new brushed aluminium trim strip.

To fit, the insert requires warming gently with a hair dryer or heat gun at a low heat to help it go round the corners.  This is done by holding the insert in position and then gently applying the heat. DO NOT OVER HEAT.

Feedback suggests that using nylon pliers (so as not scratch the paint) to pull the outer edge of the windscreen rubber outward away from the glass and applying a very light application of soapy water as lubricant while pressing the insert firmly into the screen rubber works well.

This brushed aluminium nylon trim strip is also stocked by a well known Alpine A110 parts supplier in Germany.

The dimensions are exactly the same as the original aluminium insert but the top section is very slightly thinner (0.4mm) so it sits very slightly lower on the rubber. The non return "arrow head" is also slightly sharper than the aluminium one which engages with the mirror shape in the screen rubber to secure it. Made in the UK it is easily cut with a junior hacksaw.

Competitively priced at £100 per car set, which consists of 7 metres of brushed aluminium nylon trim strip in two 3.5 metre lengths enough for the front and rear windscreen.

Shipping price is for UK only excluding Northern Ireland.
International shipping available using the Ebay Global Shipping Programme.

It can also be delivered in a 50 metre roll. Assuming an A110 requires 3.5m x 2 for front and rear windscreen applications there would be 7 car sets per roll. Please enquire.
