This photogravure of Louis Pasteur from Albert Edelfelt's famous painting was made prior to 1894. The photogravure was made by Groupil & Company to be bound into the book "Great Men and Famous Women" of that period. It is very clear and clean.

The Eastlake four-tier deep well frame was made circa 1880 and is a remarkable piece on its own. The frame photographs well but please look closely as it does show patina and flaws of its age. Original imperfect glass and wooden back. Frame dimensions 15.5 in by 13.5 in overall with opening for 8 in by 10 in image. the photogravure is beautiful.

This is a really nice pairing.
