For auction is an antique sad iron that operated by stoking it with charcoal. It dates to the late 1800s and is in excellent condition. It has a latch on the top for opening the iron to replenish the fuel and an operating damper on the back to regulate how much air the charcoal receives. I cannot find a maker's mark on it. It is 6 1/2" in length, 3 1/2" wide and 6 1/2" tall.
