This is a very nice heavy vintage piece. The seller's mother used this piece in the 1950s - 1960s, but it could be from earlier. This was owned by the seller's mother, and she used it in the late 1950s or 1960s to 1987 or so, after which the seller stored it.

These dishes were made by the Hall China Company, founded by Robert Hall in 1903 and located in East Liverpool, Ohio. Margaret & Kenn Whitmyer's "The Collector's Guide To Hall China" (Collector Books: 1985) is an excellent reference to the Hall China Company's history and products. The pattern "Autumn Leaf" was first made in 1933 for the Jewel Tea Company, which used the pieces as premiums. Later, other accessories with the autumn leaf motif were made and either given away or sold. The Hall China Company made replacement pieces for awhile, but with the date of production stamped on the back so that the modern examples are not confused with their earlier counterparts. As this piece is undated, it is an earlier piece.
