Vatican Relic TUNIC of SAINT ANTHONY PADUA & St ELIZABETH COA

Document 1855 - John Baptist's Mother

Free USA expedited shipping!!

This is quite a rare relic… Any relic of Saint Elizabeth is near impossible to find, never mind with a certificate! And while there are many first class relics of Saint Anthony around, I have only seen one other relic of his tunic…

Saint Elizabeth was the Virgin Mary’s close kinswoman, perhaps her Aunt, the sister of her mother St. Anne or her dad St Joachim.

We hear about her in the Gospels. She had reached an advanced age without having conceived a child. The Archangel Gabriel came to her and her husband, Aaron, telling them that they would have a child who was to be the forerunner of the Messiah.

Shortly after the Annunciation, Mary traveled to visit with Elizabeth. When Mary called out to her cousin, the child, John the Baptist, leaped for joy within Elizabeth’s womb and The Holy Spirit wiped all trace of original sin from him.

Elizabeth was filled with the Spirit during this Visitation and proclaimed, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!” (Lk 1:41-42), a phrase we find in the prayer known as the “Hail Mary.” This early recognition of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit from the baby Jesus and the sanctity of Mary was a prelude of the work to come.

Saint Elizabeth of the Visitation, Mother of St. John the Baptist, precursor to our Lord, is the patron saint of pregnant women.

Saint Anthony is commonly known as the saint of impossible causes, and the finder of lost things. I always loved having an authentic piece of his tunic…please note, this is not his habit or vestments…this is what he wore under his habit against his skin, like an undergarment or lining.

I like the fact that ithe relic is a large piece with beautiful hand, woven pattern visible.

To think that the great saint actually wore this and I can hold it in my hand it is beyond my imagination.

St. Anthony is the second quickest saint to be canonized.

Sainthood takes time – the Catholic church is slow to affirm anyone as a saint. But St. Anthony of Padua is the second quickest saint to be canonized in history. Pope Gregory IX canonized him one year after his death in Padua.

St. Anthony, the great miracle worker in the Catholic church, performed miracles to heal the sick and even raised the dead. Yes, St. Anthony is known to find lost items or stolen goods. St. Anthony is also great at making love connections. If St. Valentine is letting you down, try St. Anthony to find love! St. Anthony is a patron of many things. Don’t be surprised – St. Anthony is called the patron saint of Brazil, amputees, animals, the elderly, the oppressed, the poor, and even the shipwrecks. The list can go on.

MEASUREMENTS

- reliquary 1 1/4” x 7/8”

- certificate 14 1/2 x 10”

The certificate is dated in Roman numerals for 1855. The certificate is issued by Cardinal Patrizi Naro, Vicar General of Rome, and head of the powerful Roman Curea.

His raised seal is found on the lower left-hand side of the certificate. It is a perfect match to the red wax seal, impressed behind the Reliquary.

Please note… The coat of arms found at the top center of the certificate, belongs to the pope, and please remember, the pope does not issue relics ever… If you ever see the crossed keys of Saint Peter used as a seal on a Relic or Document, I can guarantee it’s counterfeit.
